Can anybody help with the weight of a typical Alko approved towbar to go on my Bailey 79-4? May not always want to tow and need to know how that will affect my payload when I load up inside of the van.
Thanks

The one for my Bailey 740 weighs 37kg. I've taken it off at the moment because I'm not needing to tow and the back axle was nearing it's load limit.

Same concern as me. Nice one.

I take mine off regularly (because it weighs a ton) when it's not needed. Just 9 bolts are holding mine on

My towbar weighs 28kgs, I also remove mine when I am in Europe as I only tow in the U.K.

Take a look on the www.alko.com website they have lots of info on there I think it depends on what type you have as there is a heavy duty one as well.??

Don't forget, the imposed weight on the rear axle is more than the weight of the towbar.
Don't know the formula to work it out but a 30kg bar may put 36/37kg load on the axle
