Hi all, this maybe a stupid question but as I have only towed caravans in the past I am going to ask anyway. Lol.

Finalising a decision on an A frame to tow our fiat 500 but I was wondering if the mileage of the car increases when being towed...?

Don't laugh that I dont know. Thanks

Hi Adrian

I'm interested in why you want to know? Is it so that in the future if you change cars it appears to be a low mileage one or something else?

This is one reason why I would never buy an a-frame towed car as there is no way to know it's genuine travelled mileage, others don't seem to be bothered.

Certainly not and I would disclose, I just did not know!

Good on you for being honest, unfortunately some people aren't hence my subsequent comment along with my belief that it puts strain on the car in a way that it was never meant to be. There are various producers of a-frame systems, some of which rely on the strength of the front cross member of the car without putting any strengthening in, the cross member and/or other parts of the car were never meant to be used in this way so issues can develop because of it - there are a few threads on the forum about this so a search may bring them up.
