Can any body recommend a tow bar supplier and fitter for a motorhome in Bedfordshire.

Remember, tow bars are heavy and may compromise your payload.

They can also help with payload as item can be put in the trailer and not the motorhome

You could try your local M.H dealer and see who they use or recomend. Its worth it as I used the same fitter for mine they use locally and saved the £200 markup the dealer was going to charge

Thanks two on tour I had thought about fitting myself but have concerns about the wiring as my van is still under warranty. I will get a price from Jim's towbars thanks.

Not stupid when the motorhome you have bought has a towbar you don't need and the removal gives you nearly 40kg extra payload. That was my experience. Apologies if this was not aimed at me.

The biggest of the job is the electrics. I had the towbar fitted in half an hour and another 3 hours running in the wiring harness to the front, fitting the canbus box of tricks behind the passengers plastic footwell and the cab battery fuses and connections, but I saved myself best part of £300.
I did not need to alter or splice into any of the original van wiring as the supplied wiring harness plugged into and piggy backed the vans original connector, so it should not affect your warranty.
