I’m considering getting a TotalCool for this summer. I saw them at the Motorhome home show earlier this year but I can’t find any reviews as to how effective they actually are at cooling a MH down in hot temperatures. Has anyone got one and are they worth the money? Many Thanks.

My personal opinion is they dont cool down persay
they create cool draught
I may be way off the mark some one correct me.

Woman insisted we get one..
About £230 for a fan in a box tat you can put water / ice in.
We have used it a few times but I do not know if she uses it just cos she feels guilty about insisting on the purchase or it genuinely helps !

I’ve read and researched loads about cooling systems but haven’t found anything on TotalCool. I’m swaying towards the Total Breeze 12v fab. All the reviews are positive and it’s loads cheaper at approx £100.

I bought a cheap Aldi one it works, keeps stuff cool. 12/240 volt.and only 40 quid:confused:(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)(y)

Keep up mate were talking air con not cool box's, unless of course you plug yours in and leave the lid off:doh:

We looked at them opted for fiamma turbo vent in roof not much more expensive but a lot better imo and no storage required kept us cool in high 30’s in france

Think this is the same one we saw some guy peddling at a Show. As you say, it's effectively a fan blowing over a tray of cold water / ice. Not worth the money.

But this thread has reminded me about the modification I intend to make to our fan to make it into a cold air blower. Will post pictures when I'm done, but it's dead simple, just a few bent wires.

Evaporative coolers can work , they are used in Australia , but you need a fan pulling air thru a wetted mat , so needs a pumped water supply , and the higher the humidity the less effective they are . The plus side is that they work best with a non contained area eg with a window open to get a thruflow of air , that doesnt build up humidity . HTSH

We have similar (not that make) and it is okay, I use it in the house a lot during the summer.

A bonus is that you can add smelly oils to the reservoir and the van does smell nice when it's in use.

This one is cheap (I have not used the company or the product so can't say how good they are) and might help you decide if you want to spend money on a larger and more expensive model.
