Been travelling round Croatia for the last few weeks and have stayed at various campsites, large, very large and small. Every single one has had clean facilites, toilet paper in every toilet, separate mens and womens facilities, toilets with seats, soap dispensers at the sinks, hot water for potwashing, hot showers, and free WiFi. Some even have water to the pitch. Also you get at least 10 amps for EHU, many are 16. Compare that with many French sites: mixed facilities, no toilet paper, no soap dispensers (how can you wash your hands properly without soap), long drop toilets (maybe a couple of normal ones just to show willing), no toilet seats where there are normal toilets, 6 amps as standard for EHU, cold water for pot washing and expensive WiFi. OK they're not all like that but that description is not untypical of many of the French sites we've visited. Likewise, though to a lesser extent, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese sites also. Also the weather here has been amazing. I'd say better than Spain/Portugal at this time of year.

When we stayed on Croatia camping sites the quality was always good. The weather always turns autumnal around now whereas Spain and Portugal keep the weather going. Loved that tour.

PS we are in Herault med area and the weather is still holding up. Expecting a couple of days rain then nice again..

Rather like C&MC or C&CC Sites then 😁

Going quite cold at nights in Northern Croatia now and a lot of rain forecast for next week, hopefully they re being pessimistic.

Croatia is lovely, we caught the seaside part of the A8 in perfect light and not too busy a couple of days ago it was absolutely stunning.

I just wish Croatia had some aires because it can be such a faff booking in and out at campsites, it took over an hour to get into this one and we already had a pitch number.

interesting, what’s the typical cost per night?
In the Summer prices were 30-40 euros, 2 people in large motorhome. I would say its 25 ish now, or 18-20 at Autocamps. Acsi's are now avaliable but there always extra charges add 2-3 euros/night.

We checked out a new place on Brac, described as a "Boutique" campsite and in August is was 104 euros plus taxes, currently down to 64. very smart but didnt appear very full.

Interesting read as planning a trip to the right and south of Europe next spring.

What’s your prefered app/source for finding sites ?

So, the first few sentences sound just like a British site then.👍

We've been paying between €20-25 per night (actually charged in Kuna but equates to that amount) with ACSI and even the Auto Camps which are the smaller sites (non ACSI) are charging the same. So not cheap. The big site at Dubrovnik costs a lot more so we've skipped that on this visit. Not seen any aires since we've been here, so can't comment on them, if they even exist.

Yes but the comparison was with other European sites in particular the French ones.

Be interesting to see how the pricing adapts when it goes to the Euro.

Yes, but not in cost. We are at a site in Italy, on a private beach with parosols provided. All the above facilities plus large swimming pool, nice bar, restaurant and shop. 24 euros, plus sunshine!

its already going up. heard quite a few moans about it, but I'm not sure they're attributing any of it to the Ukraine situation.
It certainly is. Was silly cheap when we first went in 06, every time since there has been a considerable increase, and the swap to Euro appeared to make everything more costly.
