Tolls France

Hi, I am going to France in August and I have a Swift Bolero 712sb with a GVW of 4250kg and less than 3 metres in height. Would I come under the class 2 or class 3 category for using the toll roads?

You are likely to be charged class 2 but are class 3 but if charged as 3 then if you ask nicely (press button for attention "Bonjour, camping-car classe deux, s'il vous plait") the operators often but not always will change the price to class 2.

If 2 axles and under 3 m then you will probably be charged class 2 as they will not know your weight. Technically class 3 though.

Don't use the toll roads. It's the same fuel use (vans guzzle fuel at 70mph and if you go slow you might as well use the A roads) and only about 1 day longer to get to Spain

Our old Sprinter was 4.6 tonnes but only 6.40 metres long with twin rear wheels. We got away with it every time!
