Some of you may be familiar with the Runcorn bridge across the Mersey. An alternative bridge near Widnes is almost complete, and when it is there'll be a free-flowing toll system across BOTH bridges that requires online payment of the £2 toll by midnight on the following day or there'll be a £60 penalty charge, similar to the Dartford crossing.

If you live in the local borough of Halton there's a discount scheme, plus monthly passes for commuters, and if you're a regular traveller through the area you can pre-register for an account that offers a 10% discount, but you have to pre-load the account with £30 in advance, plus a £5 admin fee.

Details here at the Merseyflow website: https://www.merseyflow.co.uk/

It isn't. All motorhomes are £2.50 or £1.67 if you have an account. I was charged £2.50 for my van (3700Kg) on 5th and 8th July even though I have an account. Don't think I can be bothered to claim a refund though. It's £6.00 for HGVs etc. with more than two axles.

Think he was talking about the Runcorn crossing not the Dartford.

It should be free! Look at the alternative?.

Considering the billions we pay in road and fuel tax, we should not have to pay for that toll.

I used to run a business with up-to 5 engineers using that bridge at least once a day each. Sometimes as many as four going from job to job.

Look at what this will cost business and commuters.
