As it's a few days since we had a toilet query here's another, While in Albufeira in January A chap told me that he puts copper sulphate into the cassette, then in Tarifa a lady said she buys the cheapest washing up liquid for her toilet, Neither of them explained the advantages other than their being much cheaper than the green sachets that I use at about £ 1.30 a pop ( not plop) what do you use?

Blue diamond liquid. Blue and pink. First thing I got. Works for me. And it's not that expensive so don't see the point experimenting with clothes washing pods etc as some seem to.

If you do use bio tabs or liquid it is important to get rid of any remaining blue before using it as the blue stuff will stop the bio from working

Definitely as above. Never use any chemicals not even for cleaning. Those Bio bugs are delicate creatures

Get a SOG & use nothing else.
What not even a charcoal filter? always try to avoid parking next to any van which obviously has a sog, wont explain why someone might be eating. 😂

It is no longer experimenting as hundreds of MHomers have been using Bio liquids and sachets for decades successfully.

Point taken, but it would be for me because I have never done it. Our disagreement is no more than one of lexical semantics, and therefore really rather minor to the point of being almost unworthy of comment. (y)

Ooooh, 'lexical semantics' sounds much more intellectual than 'pedantry'.

Can we have more of that please :giggle:

We've always used bleach. The toilet plastics and seals are high quality and it doesn't affect them, plus it's diluted anyway.
The warnings are so you'll buy thetford's expensive chemicals, nothing more 😏

I use the Lidl Formil bio laundry capsules at £2.99 for 20 15p each. Convenient to carry and to drop one in every empty. As others have said, keeps the inside of the cassette nice and clean.
Presumably you cut the top off and squirt in the contents?

No, just chuck it in, the capsule case disolves in a little water. If it gets a bit whiffsy in very hot weather chuck in another.
(We also put one down the sink for the grey waste from time to time.)
