Rather a tongue in cheek (no puns ) question. My cousin has just purchased a motor home so I thought I would show off Fun as a vital tool.
His Thetford plastic toilet bowl is yellowing so needs some attention. Does anyone know of the best mild abrasive to freshen it up.
Many thanks

In the boating world, when the white hull turns yellow, we use chine shine.

A similar product for yellow hulls is Y10 from yacht chandlers.

If cousin is in Cornwall, he can try some at my house, just send me a pm.

Never tried it on a loo though.

We have a caravan toilet bowl cleaner like this:-

It seems to do the trick without a problem. Thetford also do their own brand.

(I'm not sure if we've used the blue bottle or were able to buy the pink stuff separately)

Your boat hull is GRP (polyester or vinylester resin) whereas the toilet bowl is more likely to be a polypropylene thermosetting plastic. I have no idea how oxylic acid (Chine Shine/Y10) affects polypropylene so would suggest its worth testing it on a spot somewhere out of sight first.

Fill the toilet bowl, a washing powder tab left to soak should help remove the yellow limescale without the need for expensive cleaners or harsh chemicals
