Interesting, having been away for consecutive weekends, that the two main clubs have different rules for toilet blocks. CAMC in Brighton last weekend had toilets open but no showers, CCC at Corfe Castle this weekend no toilets open.

No particular issues either way just interesting how they have both viewed the rules/guidance.

We're just home from two nights on a site (our son had a pod thingy too), toilets and showers open, the proprietor told me it was up to individual sites whether or not facilities were opened.

Given that I saw suggestions that someone had used a blocked off shower at Moreton CAMC, I can see why the CCC have taken the easier option of locking off the blocks entirely.

CMC Buxton. Toilets but no showers.
Had an email from Highlands End about our July booking. No toilets till May 17th.

Can’t be hard to disable showers surely. Aren’t some people complete pillocks?👎

C&MC sites in Scotland - facilities (including showers) open
C&MC sites outwith Scotland - facilities (excluding showers) open
both under current Government advice \ guidance.

I believe in England sites are now allowed to provide showers, but if they do they will need to ensure cleaning between each use. Not really going to be achievable.

Given most campsite blocks are toilets and showers combined, even with rows of washbasins (a grey area if those should be used for anything other than handwashing without added cleaning precautions), it's easy to see why C&CC have taken the view it's simpler to keep the blocks closed entirely and rely on campers to have their own amenities. Posts above show that "punters" will disregard locks / taped off areas, so unfortunately the over cautious approach to closing blocks seems quite reasonable.

Toilet blocks ?

Change your loo paper ...................(or eat prunes).

I just can't see the logic/benefit of closing toilets/showers. Surely one in one out is perfectly safe and the hygiene risks of not having a loo outweighs the COVID risk if people use common sense. If there are no loos everyone need to empty their cassette/ grey waste more often so the hazard is just moved elsewhere.

Same applies in B&Q. Why are the toilets closed?

Hidden Valley, North Devon.

Bookings only accepted from self contained units. Toilet and shower blocks locked closed.

CAMC sites toilets open. No showers, yet we still see the toilet bag brigade trooping to the toilet and using the basins to have a full body wash. 🤨

Off to Cobleland, camping in the forest site Aberfoyle on Thursday got an email today saying toilets and showers open.

CAMC Norfolk Broads Ludham Bridge. toilets ok but showers locked off.

The shower issue could be due to the risk of airborne airosol virus contamination spreading over the partitions from one shower cubicle to the rest of the toilet block.

We stayed at CAMC Troutbeck Head on 12 April and toilet blocks were open, showers were closed. Have just cancelled CCC Sandringham for May Day weekend as didn't want the faff of continually refilling water & emptying the toilet & grey water (motorhome plus 2 children = lots of water for toilets, showers, washing up etc) and they reluctantly gave a full refund, though only because the toilet block was closed.

Perhaps the Scottish airborne bugs can't climb over the shower partitions, 'cos they are open here in Moffat.

Both toilets and showers open here at the CMC site in Forfar, no idea if it’s every cubicle as we haven’t ventured in.

Interestingly just had an email from C&CC that they have opened their toilets / dishwashing at Bellingham (where I hope to be over the bank hol - a very long drive....), just not showers. C&CC website hasn't updated that so don't know if this is a revised policy for other C&CC sites.

Went 20 miles to B&Q.busting to go for a pee whilst I was there!customer toilets closed!asked an assistant who suggested Morrison’s 100 yards up the road so got in my car and went there!! If Morrison’s think it’s safe!! B&Q Lost out because I came home and ordered off the internet and from someone else!,,
