Oyster Vision 3 Satellite system.

As it comes with no Remote, just the display panel for which Satellite it's looking at. How do you change channels on TV screen.

Surely you’d need a decoder like your sky box at home ?

Buy a TV that receives a satellite signal and use that or a decoder as mentioned above.

The Vision III satellite system is just a satellite control unit. It will open up and lock on to the desired satellite but that is all. On the Vision III brain unit there is an output lead that you feed to either a set top box or TV with built in Satellite decoder. Then you watch the channels via that.

Or have a normal TV with HDMI inputs and a cheap Freesat box or Recorder

So we now know that if we changed to Mk3 we need a box. It was just the Oyster system we have , it has a remote and you can watch tv from the unit.

Essentially yes but there are options.

The systems available now are as follows:
Oyster Vision III Basis - 65cm or 85cm parabolic dish system available with or without Autoskew (motorised LNB) and as single, twin or Quad (required for Sky Q). Command unit can be operated via included Control unit or via Ten-Haaft app and has in built Satellite control unit but requires standalone receiver.

Oyster Vision III Premium - 65cm or 85cm parabolic dish system available with or without Autoskew and as single, twin or Quad (required for Sky Q). Command unit can be operated via included Avtex TV or via Ten-Haaft app and has in built Satellite control unit. Oyster/Avtex TV tells the satellite where to go depending on the channel you choose. Very good if you use multiple satellites to watch foreign channels.

Cytrac Vision III Basis - 55cm Prime focus dish system (gives equivalent signal of a 75cm parabolic dish) which is more compact. Perfect for vehicles for limited roof space. Available as single or twin variant but no Autoskew option. Command unit can be operated via included Control unit or via Ten-Haaft app and has in built Satellite control unit but requires standalone receiver.

Oyster V Basis - Available as 85cm only available with or without Autoskew and as single, Twin or Quad (required for Sky Q). Same as the Oyster Vision III but with our latest roof unit that does not search for satellites, it has built in GPS, Compass and Level sensor so it knows the location of the Satellite required. It also has just one coax cable that runs to the roof unit (Twin has two) that supply's power and signal and is lighter and lower when stowed than it's predecessor. Feature box can be operated via included Control unit or via Ten-Haaft app and has in built Satellite control unit but requires standalone receiver.

Oyster V Premium - Available as 85cm only available with or without Autoskew and as single, Twin or Quad (required for Sky Q). Again as above with the new flagship roof unit and equipment. Feature box can be operated via included Avtex TV or via Ten-Haaft app and has in built Satellite control unit. Oyster/Avtex TV tells the satellite where to go depending on the channel you choose. Very good if you use multiple satellites to watch foreign channels.

Just a note on Sky Q also as we get a lot of questions on this subject.
Most satellite receivers work on a universal LNB which is voltage controlled. The universal LNB is only able to see 1/4 of the signal at any one time so the receiver sends different voltages depending on the channel it requires.
Sky Q uses a new Wideband LNB that has two outputs on it. One cable see's all of the Vertical signals and the other cable see's all of the Horizontal signals removing the need for voltage switching but also meaning that a normal LNB will not work with a Sky Q box.
Our solution is a Quad system which has four cables. These cables all bring down 1/4 of the signal each so the whole signal is seen at once. Inside the vehicle these cables go into a multiswitch box which converts the signal received and relays it to the Sky Q box as required (Note: the Sky Q box must be changed to SCR mode for this to work). The multiswitch also has two other outputs that will relay regular signal if required also. We do not stock multiswitches ourselves but our dealers do however if anyone has any questions about this then I'm more than happy to explain in greater detail.
