The Saxophone. It’s been a birthday gift from Alex. It’s an instrument I’ve always wanted to learn. Think it’s going to take me a while to be able to play it properly 🤣

Good luck. Hope you crack it. Wish I could play an instrument. I love music but am crap at playing anything.
I’m not sure I will be able to “play” it myself anytime soon... if it’s something you want to learn nows the time to start. I’ve always loved the instrument mainly due to the classic dire straights songs.

Me too. Big fan of Dire Straits. Saw them at the NEC once. Wow!!

A long time now
I recall seeing a chap playing a saxophone in the park every other Sunday ,when I was playing football he was great but boy he was loud . His sax was a massive one and the sounds were so smooth.

I went for the saxophone and put my first attempt up for all to ridicule me

Strongly suggest you watch this without sound as i gave up immediately realising it didnt actually sound anything like I thought i was playing.

I wish you every bit of luck

Great idea. With so much time on our hands i'm sure you'll 'crack it' sooner than you think. I bought my first Piano on 5th January, never touched a piano in my life. Been following some guy on youtube, doing about 2-3 hours a day and now I can do most of my scales and play a couple of songs two handed. Keep at it , progress does stutter at times but you will make big strides. Good luck.

Friend who plays in a band was explaining the practical differences between playing different saxophones to us at a weekly Zoom meeting we usually attend - one he had you only do the keying with one hand and another both hands - one was tenor and the other bass, I do remember that = but I've forgotten the other subtle nuances apart from the sound obviously!
