Mrs DBK's second loaf of the day in the oven. A sourdough made from white, wholemeal and some rye. She doesn't think it has risen enough because the dough was a bit dry.

Looks good to me. :)

On and off for many years.
Going to make something with our egg excess ...........not sure what yet though, I will need to look in the fridge but quiche / flan is one option and creme brulee and custard tart.

I'll be taking things easy as I'm not feeling good today :( I started a different brand of medication last night so could be reacting to that.

Oh no!!!!!!!!! Hope it isn't all ruined, If not opened the stuff may still be frozen - otherwise you have a lot of cooking to do.

I had bought a little tub of ice cream as a treat, I gave it a prod and it's was semi solid, so I slammed the door shut and put it on fast freeze. I'm not a worrier about frozen stuff or sell by dates. If it's not turned green and smells ok then it's probably ok.

Fruit bread for afternoon tea?

This was actually another ‘experiment’....... I used 100g plain flour, 1.65g soda, 3.3g tartar, 38g Greek yoghurt, 12g crime fraiche, 50g milk and 50g sultanas.......... ‘baked’ on the hob in a covered frying pan for 8 mins each side on min heat setting.

It ‘caught’ a little, probably to the sugar from the fruit (?) but actually was very light and fluffy inside and very tasty?

What surprised me most was that it had the structure of a yeasted bread baked in an oven?

It was so good we eat it slightly warm with just butter accompanied by a nice cup of Earl Grey?

The perfect motorhome or boat based home baked afternoon tea for those without an oven?

You make it look and sound so easy. I am very impressed with your bread making .. and photography. I manage to fail even when using a bread maker. ???

Thank you, but it really IS easy? I posted the Soda breads on here because they are well suited to cooking with limited facilities?

Posted this in the other bread thread... but maybe should have posted here.

Made this today, my second ever loaf.

Well done. Did you enjoy making it? Was it tasty? Will you be making bread again? ?

It was very easy and most satisfying to make, my wife and I ate nearly half 'just tasting' it.

It was delicious and I'll definitely be making some more... have enough ingredients to make two more.

The remains of yesterday’s bake chocolate brownies.
No, we haven’t eaten them all! I haven’t had one yet.
Packed some up for son who came over last night to bring flour from the Romanian shop by him, and then this morning packed up the rest, just leaving 2 for me and hubby, for Daughter to leave on doorstep for when she pops by to collect some of the flour.
Still trying to work out if this flour suitable for bread but it is only 11gm protein per 100gm.
