We wave unless its the Ocado Van. Being LHD on UK plates most people take a little longer to register the wave from the left seat ;-)

We always wave . Its a nice friendly thing to do. Only thing is when we get back in the car and I forget I'm not in motorhome - so I still wave .

We wave, not only to be friendly, but we need the exercise!

I usually wave and sometimes they don't wave back.

My problem is that when somebody ignores me I take it out on the next MH. I find myself glaring with my "you can sod off" look.

We wave like a whole cartload of manic waving things :fatbuddha: and give big grins at the same time. It's also fun when on the rare occasions we overtake another motorhome the OH grins and waves like a maniac, sometimes the expression on the other drivers face registers pure terror.::bigsmile:

We wave, unless we don't see you til too late. Find most wave back. Not wanting to start a debate but we find the ones that least return waves are classic VW drivers. Overall though most waves returned. Question is we exchange waves but if you saw a Moho broken down at the side of the road would you stop to see if you could help?

That may be because their scared to take one hand of the steering wheel (?)::bigsmile::winky:

Funny as this is also a topic discussed by bikers, do you nod and at who, scooter riders, L plate bikers, which genre do you acknowledge?? Is it the same for M/H owners, as a newbie, i wave at everyone, but if theres a code, please enlighten me, especially if we have some amongst us that its forbidden to wave at!!!

Never leave a campsite with your clothes line tied to a lamp post.
We are relative newbies so this thread has been most informative. The overwhelming response seems to be "wave, its a fun thing to do" which suits us just fine. I suppose the non waving fraternity may just not be posting to avoid looking like a grumpy guts........I will see if we can develop a special wave for them.

This was the grumpy wave thread

And this was my view..

I'm a dedicated waver, in fact if you've been rolling in your Mo Ho and been waved at by a blond in either a silver yaris or a blue bmw it's me....just forgetting I'm not in the van.

I love waving so much, sometimes we just go for a drive looking for motorhomes to wave at. It gives me a warm glow when people wave back and we laugh out loud if they don't.

We even have different waves...

Chicken wave... (leave it to the last minute to see who waves first)

Mexican wave... (Whole arm wave)

To cool for school wave...(languidly flick of the wrist)

Fellow autosleeper wave...(a wave of great enthusiasm)

Concorde wave...(like the royal wave in deference to a superior van) only done once.

Middle aged man alone wave...(cheery hand palm wave)

Jazz hand wave...(Friday night only wave)

Etc the list of waves is long my friends, don't knock it til you've tried it...

I wave at other motorhomes but often don't get a wave back

This happens mostly when I am in my car
