looking to buy
hi everyone, we have decided that as I get my final appointment with specialist at the end of January if all ok? we are hoping to drive down to Portugal until end of April. the big question is
do we go to the added expense of buying a trailor to put our little aygo on or is it more cost effective/convenient etc to hire a car as and when we need one? your response will be valued many thanks from lucas70 and jill

I think I'd hire one, I've seen people faffing about putting cars on the back and it's not for me. Some Aires would become difficult to use too.

Edit; what about a scooter?

Had a car and trailer with the last two M/H .Never had any access problem. But were always carefull to read the description of any aire before we went
This worked well for us for the last 12 years
This year however we have downsized and taken the decision if we need a car whilst away, will hire

We looked at the fact you have a car sitting there doing nothing, ( we would have had 2 cars) your away for a long period, you have it there but you don't have to use it unlike a hire car, the hire company are not going to rob you with insurance.
Each to their own, we had a trailer because of Spanish rules, trailers loose little money no mot we didn't have any problems storing or using aires and campsites. (y)

Couldn't agree more, we tend to look for Aires that simply accept a larger number of "Placements" meaning a much larger Aire and more space, we've never had a problem but we always park in consideration of others if the Aire is busy.

I have a "Brian James Trailer" which I recommend highly, I have Toyota IQ and I can load and move in 10 minutes without raising a sweat if you are practical and can actually drive it is not a problem.
