We are off to Spain on Sunday and the weather forecast is pants for the whole of our trip down though France. Rain, Sleet , Snow etc
Should we bite the bullet and go down the A28 toll route or stick to our plan to go down the non toll route ?

If you are just going to Spain and not interested in France , I would go for the motorway every time, compared to the extra fuel and time and having to negotiate roundabouts every mile, it's cheap.
Even when we go to the south of France , we take the slow route down but when we decide it's time for home we take the motorway back, but saying that if you plan ahead some parts of the toll roads you can miss with other good duel carriageways alongside.

Not long enough, but a little common sense helps..........
Never use them, in Spain or France, because I don't go over 95kph. I understand people must get from A to B fastest time possible, but in a MH ?????

1994 and beyond...
depends on what your driving...we go non toll except for A16, A63. I'm sure with what i drive there can hardly be anything in it time wise. plus to safely overnight you have to come off, cheap fuel likewise..you have to come off to eat out, to go to a bakers etc.....I dont see the point in toll route.

A28 ?????? Abberville to Rouen.. ?? thats free anyway..
Or do you mean A16 Bolougne to Abberville, if so costs around €12 and saves 45 mins on that stretch..

Make a decision when you get there i guess..
Time vs money after safety considerations..

A16 to Abberville is better when snowing, we tried to use the N road there one year in bad snow and it's so open in places it was a nightmare with wind and snow... Got on to the motorway as soon as i could.
