I hear endless arguments about "How much the Royals bring into the UK", hard evidence would be good, and before you go searching the 70p per tax payer per year, does that include the cost of maintaining Crown properties, security of the Royals etc.. I suspect not...

On the flip side, exactly how many pages of squit would you like of hard evidence showing how much a small number of greed driven bankers has cost the UK ?

A lot of spin there me dear old buttons..

Last night there were some empty seats, tens of millions may well be OTT, nothing on my estate, not even a flag.
But you do live in the principality of Wales my dear boy, your big day is when your team is playing the English.

Try the whole thing without a public holiday and see the responce...No relevance.....The occasion undoubtedly warranted a public holiday so we could enjoy the 60 years to the full. I am as we speak attending a street party. Cheers.... How many republicans didn't take advantage of the day off I wonder?

The Royal family have been active at spinning themselves ever since th Diana death, they were on the verge of losing it. And now you will be pleased to know they have got it back big time. Take a look at the un-spun support throughout the UK

Be a Loyal Royalist , its your choice, but I would not even go to my front door to see them. Your choice too....:winky:

I for one would rather be a citizen of this country than a subject. We live in a democracy with a parliament we are no longer ruled.... the royals now have a different role....case you haven't noticed.

B & B in the Tower for me then...No prob's I'll come along and visit you
Stop pretending, go with the flow......you know it make sense:thumb:

we could start with the 5 bn.AGAIN 5 BILLION POUNDS in intrest payments that the taxpayer has to pay every year on the loans the government had to take out to bail the greedy bankers out, 5 billion that the unconcieved children of this country will have to pay, what a great legacy the greedy bankers have left, for our unborn, but they will show no shame:Sad:

Wrong again.... not for investment/banking but Goodwin's knighthood, awarded in 2004 for "services to banking".

You must have had one hell of a bad experience in the past, you appear to have a fixation bordering on paranoia regarding Investment bankers, strange you did not have the same issues when they were making millions in profits.

Time to move on...

Wasn't Llywelyn the one with the dog?

The faithful hound he mistakenly killed because he thought it had killed his son, only to find that Gelert (the dog) had actually killed a wolf which attempted to kill his son who was still alive, but under the cot?

Anyway, after that day he never smiled again, so the Legend goes.....................

I feel more sorry for the dog!

That's cool, I'm Germany just about to go out for a beer.

I think I will ask them to join in the celebrations.

I'm sure they will happily raise a glass to Liz before they toast Angela....:RollEyes:

Well that`s our 13th year & still loving it.
the royalist.

Well we have just got back home and can only say what a fantastic time, the pagent despite the awful weather was a success, how can you Not just have the fullest of Admiration for the Royal Family, the Queen and Prince Philip stood for the whole thing, from start to finish almost 5hrs and when they docked at Tower Bridge stood and waved through every last boat.

How fantastic and dedicated to their subjects is that:thumb:

The Concert was just truly amazing must have looked great on the tele but to be there in amongst the throng was something we were proud to be part of, people sharing food and drink, sharing stories, enjoying other peoples company and the whole ambience, just fantastic.
Yes Cliff`s voice has gone but hey he`s no spring chicken but he got up there, Cheryl Cole was the only bad decision from Gary, perhaps Adele would have been a better choice.

Prince Charles`s speech at the end of the concert was just fanatstic, so very moving, hints of humour, geniune Love and Adoration for his Mother and Father.
At one point we thought The Queen was going to Shed a tear, Bless her.

Yesterday was just awesome, don`t think the police expected there to be so many people, From half way down The Strand right through Trafalgar, down Whitehall and all connecting roads all full, even round the back of Buckingham palace was packed, as were all the parks with screens showing the open carriage ride back from Westminster Hall to the palace, the balcony speech and the fanatstic spectacle of the Fly Past.

How much did it all cost, who cares, how much did all those millions of people spend in the hotels, bars, restaurants street vendors etc etc.

We have been to the Silver, Golden and now the Diamond Jubilee, lets hope we get to attend the Platinuim Jubilee.

How much would it cost to have a President and all that goes with it.

Would people from all over the world flock to London to celebrate anything to do with them...

Most certainly not, we have diluted this countries traditions enough.
The Royal Family aren`t dysfunctional at all, they are real people living in the real world as real families do.
So get off the Band Wagon...and Long Live The Queen.:thumb::thumb::thumb:
