Hi everyone, a question for you. It’s 5 years since I had the timing belt done, would it be advisable to have it replaced before the next touring season even though it’s lonly done just 12000 mls on that belt, also what could I expect to have it done these days, it’s a 2004 2.8 Ducato . Thanks in anticipation. Simon

It's always gamble to decide to not. Low miles can cause the belt to dry out and become brittle. When I had mine changed at 24,000 and 5 years it was very brittle and could have snapped at anytime. Best to do it or it'll be on your mind all the time.

We have ours booked in for April £520 plus VAT at a garage I've been using for a few years. This includes water pump which I've been advised to replace at the same time as the belt.
Don't think the actual mileage means much the advice is to change at 5 years and ours is 2017 plate so its booked!
