changed my timing belt last week with 17k miles on the clock 07 plate. So 6 years as against the 5 year advisory change so imagine my surprise today when I found a sticker at the back of the wardrobe which said the gas flue was fitted and checked (passed) 05 !!! so MH & timing belt were 2 years old before it was registered ( I bought as second owner in July 12) seems to make a mockery of the 5 year time scale me thinks

as stated, 5 year belt change is advisory...not compulsory.

some last a lot longer, some dont.

that will mean the tyres are '05 as well...or maybe a bit older if the van was stood at the factory for a while before being dispatched to the dealers, unless you have changed them recently.

bit of a bugger when you think your buying one thing to find out later it aint what you thought.
