Well there are only 50 days until we are on the ferry to start our adventure, we will be retired then and off to Portugal for the winter, returning in March to start our temporary job with the Camping and Caravan Club.

If you see a grey Eura Mobil with a trailer carrying a Lotus 7 style car that is us, give us a wave, or if you see us on a campsite come over there will always be tea or beer or wine available.

We intend to get to Santander on 29th October and head towards Valencia in a slow and casual manner, then head south to Denia where we will stay for a weekish as my sister lives near there so we intend to spend some time with her. We will then head down the coast slowly aiming to stay at Gib for a couple of days and onto Tavira or any pointers would be greatly appreciated, am thinking of stopping off at Benidorm to see the crowd there.

As stated previously any advice please pass it on we are greatful for anything that will make our lives easier.

regards

Bob

Sounds lovely Bob, enjoy. Estepona is a nice town to look around on your way to Gib, some amazing paintings on buildings there. El Rocio is also worth a look before you leave Spain into Portugal. A strange 'wild west' type of town, with sand streets, and tie ups for horses. You could almost expect the good, the bad, and the ugly to turn the corner anytime. It has a nice campsite on the edge of town too. Here is an example of one of the paintings in Estepona.

The above painting covers 5 blocks of flats, and trying to get a photo with the fishing line, lined up, was interesting. Another nice place to visit Bob is Caceres, just inland above St Luis de Sabanillas west of Estepona. A beautiful little place, with a free 'aire' at the information building on the edge of the village, water and dump and wifi. Climb the steps above the info office and watch the griffon vultures glide majestically just above your head. The views are spectacular. Here is another painting from Estepona, the palms and shadows really are painted.
