I've just brought the MH home from storage prior to a long jaunt through Europe in a few weeks' time. On picking it up, the leisure battery (Elecsol 110 Amp sealed Carbon Fibre, installed new in Feb 2008) voltage looked OK on the control panel and is still healthy now.

However I've noticed a crumbly blue-white deposit has started to build up around the base of the positive terminal:

Broken Link Removed

Should I just brush it off and keep tabs on the voltage or is my forthcoming trip likely to be wrecked without an immediate replacement? All advice welcome - especially from those in MH maintenance. Thanks.

Always learning
I have had this before on various other vehicles, i have always disconnected the battery and removed all the foreign deposits with a steel/wire brush and greased the terminals and connected it all back up - job done (y)
If it was the correct thing to do or not i don't know but didn't happen again

If it can hold a charge, just clean the terminals up and give them a smear of vaseline.

That corrosion is normal.
It is prevented by application of a bit of grease or vaseline.

Thanks for the rapid and helpful responses - I normally associate this gunk with bad news when I find it in cameras and other gadgets, so I thought it worth asking.

What are you lot doing with Vaseline :imoutahere:
What a stoopit question! Can you not read? They're using it as lubrication (and protection). Of their battery terminals! :whistle2:
