I too have these. Th straps and springs will last forever. The spikes are OK in soft ground and I would advise you to get something that is more substantial. I managed to get some marquee pegs about 10 mm in dia and solid steel. Perfect.

I have an old caravan awning version at present which is about 30 years old and the similar pegs are now on their way out. I also have some steel marquee pegs about 15" long and about 12mm so I'll have it covered for soft or hard ground!
