I made my own, 2 cheap locking straps(don't need a ratchet), Springs from Amazon - pack of 5 but only need 2, and 20 mins on the sewing machine....cost about 15 Euro.I already know the answer to this really but I have a 5m Thule awning should I just buy the Thule tie downs or are there better ones out there?
Thanks
We can make them longer but in 14 years of selling thousands we have never had it requested. They are around 8.5ft as standard. We bought the heavy duty ones from jezport a few weeks ago for our Thule omnistore awning on our PVC. They’re sturdy and we are pleased with them overall but when we put the Thule wind/rainblocker sides on we do wish the webbing straps were that little bit longer. We have our Thule storm straps at the ends and then use the Jezport ones spaced along the front for added security and they are a bit short. They cost £26 pounds plus p&p so for the sake of an extra 1/2 a metre or so on each it would make the angle much better.
That’s a kind offer and I would have taken you up on it but we’re not going to Malvern this year for the first time in about 10 years. Thank you very much though. We can make them longer but in 14 years of selling thousands we have never had it requested. They are around 8.5ft as standard.
If anyone requires longer ones we are happy to make them at no extra cost. We can take them to Malvern show if ordered this week.
Did you use Duralac prevent galvanic corrosion? https://www.mbfg.co.uk/duralac.htmlI pop-riveted a couple of S/S marine lacing eyes to my Omnistor.
