Thrust Bearing on Fiat Ducato (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys

Me again!!
I need to get the thrust bearing changed and wondered if anyone could recommend a good clean garage in Essex or nearby where I could get it done before I go away in sept.

Oh dear seems there are no decent garages to be recommended in Essex Perhaps I could try another county?

Sorry I can't recommend a garage in essex, the last one I tried lied about having a Vanco camper tyre in stock and tried to sell me an old commercial van tyre.....illegal in some European countries, mixing tyres on the same axle.

What's the mileage on your motorhome, I'd be tempted to put a new clutch in too (unless dmf) if the gearbox is getting removed.

If the thrust bearing needs changing it's a good bet the plate and pressure will need replacing. Search for my cluch experience this May

Yes good idea to replace all the consumable parts whilst the clutch is exposed Also visa versa always get the thrust bearing replaced with the plate.

£600! Is that for DMF? Just had my 2004 2.8jtd clutch renewed, £80 ish for 3 piece clutch + 2 hours labour.

He must be sleeping with your wife. I have never seen a book time under 3 hours on anything

Fiat quoted £1, 400 Fiat Germany quoted €1, 700. Three part clutch was about £300 plus labour.

You are of course correct, not the sleeping with my Wife part. It was a full days work, they struggled to bleed the system, I had a new slave cylinder fitted too. £100 for the labour, £80 for the clutch (Valeo) and £50 for the Slave (Sachs). Oh and 2 ltrs of clutch fluid and also got them to change the gearbox oil.
P.S the old clutch plate looked OK to the mechanic and to me too.

not met any mechanic that can replace the full clutch on an x250 ducato in 2/3 hours yet. it is a days work and difficult to access
