We used to have one when I was a kid and it was heavy so soon got discarded! Make sure you REALLY REALLY want one and it will get used before buying as it would be an expensive mistake, they're not that easy to keep clean either.

Use to use one of those at home didn't think they were much quicker and too big for the Motorhome.
Don't think I would want our kettle to boil faster wouldn't get time to drink the beer. When we stop in the van I put the kettle on to keep the boss happy get a beer out the fridge by the time the kettles boiled I've finished the beer ready for my cupper. :xgrin:

I think you’d best wait for the old one to boil at that price:xdoh:

Seems to be thermodynamically crazy to be heating a load of copper wires before you even start to heat the water ? I wonder if anyone's done a side by side test with a flat bottomed "normal" one.

I think I have one... I got it from my parents when they sold their boat. I was going to use it in the van but it is too tall for te cupboard. There is no way it was £250! I’ll take a picture for you. I don’t know where they got it from tho.
It’s got a capacity of 1.5L and took 7:30 to boil 1.5L on the stove top vs 4:30 to boil 1.5L with the electric kettle
Can come to an arrangement if you want
