This old van hasn't moved in the six years I've had my storage spot, it's only a couple of vans along from mine. I noticed another flat tyre today. Someone must be paying the storage invoices.

Sad indeed. I wonder if they paid a number of years in advance? (I do know of someone who did that as he was going away at her majesties pleasure for a while)

Possibly although its on German plates. It already looked very neglected when I originally moved onto the site.

A green Compass caravan ( algae ) has been parked next to me in storage for at least two years with no movement , wasn’t there when i picked up the van on Thursday , will keep you posted if Kermit reappears !

Ive seen a few like that in storage. The owners probably still have the belief that because they paid a fair bit of money for it originally that when they "get around to fixing her up again" it'll be worth it (paying all the storage fees for something that in reality is now pretty much worthless and best fixed with a match).

Its a sad sight indeed.
It's also sad to think that it may have been left untouched with a sad story behind it because some misfortune has fallen upon the owner.
(I've seen quite a few yachts like that in boatyards).

What a shame, I bet there’s many on here that would love to get their hands on it.

I know of a VW pop top that’s been sat on a drive we pass on our morning muttly walk for at least ten years. It was bought by a local firefighter as a restoration project. It’s now turned from a reddish colour to a strange faded pink. I dread to think what it’s like inside.

One for Tam!🤣🤣🤣

I've come across this too, one of my friends bought a yacht that had been sitting in a yard for 30yrs & was pretty much brand new when it arrived in the yard.
He recommissioned the yacht which took over a year. This was 30yrs ago & he still has this yacht, its beautiful.

There are two non moving classic Hymers on my storage site. Although they havent moved in 10 years one of them was recently washed and came up quite well.

There are also plenty on the storage site I use.

Some look like they would have been expensive.

I often dream that there must be room for a reality style TV programme about fixing them up?

I think the TV series “Car SOS” did a program on an old Dormobile, or maybe I was dreaming.

One on the storage site I use,the site manager explained about the owner “ he used to go out in it often then his wife died suddenly and he hasn’t the heart to get rid of it, too many happy memories so he pays the fees and it hasn’t moved in five years”

very sad (but understandable)

Ha, small world 👍. I'm in the row opposite the wash bays so I don't usually drive around the site much. I have noticed one or two neglected vans but didn't realise there are so many. I see the one I posted every time I go to mine.

What is the cost for parking up for a month?
