I have one of these popular controllers for sale if anyone is interested.

Never used or installed, still in box. Bought for my previous Hymer which was sold before I got the opportunity to fit the solar panel.
Turns out that the controller isn't suitable for my new van (need an LR1218).

Not sure what to ask for it ? Would £50 +p&p be tempting for anyone ?

Have you noticed that Schaudt have launched an MPPT version of their solar regulator? (LRM1218 as opposed to the PWM LR1218 - which is also still available)

Interesting, I haven't seen that before. A quick google doesn't show it readily available to buy.
Will keep my eye out though, planning to do the install in Spring once the weather has warmed up a bit !

If you cannot find a UK stockist, I suggest an email to Udo Lang at Schaudt. He will advise a dealer or they may sell you one direct (I have recently bought some connector pins from them for the EBL). He speaks good English.

Not long enough!
The Morningstar Sunsaver MPPT doesn't look much, but is a very very good controller if you can afford it(y)

Just a quick tip for ebay buying. I never buy from anyone who can't manage a 99.7% or better rating.
The only time I have had problems was from people with 99.5% or lower.

Just my experience.

So is 99.6 no good then Karl?
Maximum_solar has 3 negatives in 12 months from 722 transactions.
1 of those was a positive comment but gave a negative (muppet)
1 was a customer who didn't go through the warranty procedure.
The third was most likely technically challenged.
I have experienced after sales service from these and can only say it is the very best.
The percentage is not a good enough guide without actually reading the feedback.

Equally important is reading the positive feedback and how long they have been an ebay trader (10 years)

Was just saying what I do... As with all rules there are exceptions and with only 722 transactions the odd - will have a bigger effect on %.

Yes and it only needs a couple of idiot customers leaving good feedback but pressing the wrong button, sellers can't account for dimwits

10+
We have four of the Maximum Solar MPPT controllers, two on the trailer and two in the Mercedes.

Recommended by Andy originally, they have been very good and the back up from the seller/factory has been excellent.

My last two came in October/November, £160 for two, labelled as samples and came in with no handling surcharge.

Previous customers get better treatment :D:D

Don't forget that making 'MPPT' part of the unit name does not make it true MPPT. There's a fair bit of electronics involved.

No display and more expensive. Looks to be more heat sink than anything else.

I agree an overkill on heatsink. This is a review by an Aussie on utube. You have to watch the whole test.

I will look into the controller and additional panels when I get back from holiday end of march. I will be adding 2 x 100w panels to my single 100w but will have to replace my steca 1010 which has served me well.
