Our van is fitted with a Thetford C263-S Plastic bowl unit. I would like to fit a Thetford C263-S Ceramic bowl replacement unit. As far as I can see there are a few differences in size but their catalogue is not clear to me. My question is backend exactly the same size allowing a quick direct swap? Any helpful tips gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

I am interested in doing the same thing Roger. I asked the question at the NEC but didn't get a very straightforward answer. It looks like it will fit but I would like to know for definite before I commit to buying one. Hopefully someone has taken the plunge and we will get an answer.

camoyboy whilst I was in Portugal (winter 2018/19) I was assured by another MHers that it could be done very easily. One water disconnection, two wires, and about six screws. I think he is right provided the size of the back body is the same size. Have you found a good supplier if you decide to go for it?

No, I was hoping for a deal from Thetford at the show, but as I couldn't get a definite answer as to whether it was a straight swop, I didn't pursue it any further. I think the guys on the show stand were hired in and not fully up to speed with answering anything too technical.

Will it not add more weight?

Interested to know whether you proceeded with the change to a ceramic bowl?

I have recently fitted a plastic bowl 263 to my MoHo , and when I was researching went onto thetford site where they have spare parts diagrams The surround is listed for each series of models , with options for tall low or none for each series type , IIRC there is only a couple of parts that are different between ceramic or plastic versions , so swapping one complete unit for another of same series eg 260 series should be just a matter of unplug one and plug in (fit) other .
