The blade lever was getting stiff to move. After a bit of investigation I found that a soft(ish) plastic strip / flap running along the top edge of the lever slot was split, curled and partly jamming the lever action. Can anyone advise me how to remove and replace the part and the part number. Thanks.

Assuming this is the soft rubber bit inside the bathroom

We removed ours simply by cutting with little nail scissors

Thanks Robert, I was very tempted to do that but not sure if there would be a downside. Will give it a shot.
