Sods law yesterday just before retiring at about midnight suddenly there was a "popping" noise followed by the sound of flowing water and the pump running continuously. Obviously pump switched off, the flow stopped but there water all around the base of the loo in the van and draining outside under the van.
This was the culprit.

The supply hose to the toilet bowl had blown just above the one-way valve, a relatively easy fix but I'm surprised that the pump would produce enough pressure to blow the hose like that.
All I can think is it must have been a defect in the hose which has waited 10 years to go.

Any thoughts?

A substantial looking hose,it's just one of those unfortunate things,10 years old ,a previous fitting defect possibly, but as you say surprising that the pump pressure should blow the hose.trust it's done no other damage from releasing water? It's a difficult item to inspect you were lucky it was in a place you could fix easily and not under a unit or even a slow leak that would have been more difficult to find.
Have you had any frosty nights where you are?

Good points, the burst is just above the one-way valve so water will be present even when drained down. The van hasn't been subject to proper frost for 8 years since we've had it as it winters in southern Spain. There have been a few frosty nights but only surface frost and the hose would of been in use a few times during the night.
Looks like old damage waiting to happen
Thanks Guys

Very lucky Jim, crashed last night thinking about how to remove the toilet assembly for access and all the associated problems ------- !
Pleasantly surprised when I removed the cassette this morning and saw the hose.
Very Lucky.
