Just double-check that the vent fitting on the top of the cassette (near the handle end, but not the one you press when emptying) doesn't need changing. The new ones have a fitting that sticks up to match a rubber bellows on the newer toilets. The old ones just had a flat button that was pressed open as the cassette slid into position. It may be this that is stopping the cassette going all the way in. AFAIK it should be possible to swap them over between cassettes to suit your toilet.

I read somewhere that there are two models.one left hand and one right hand.i don't know if this applize to yours.

says c200 wheeled on the box, they are identical to look at. i was going to by a carrier but would have to find a place to store it.

Thetford have started putting wheels on C200 fresh up kits, bit of a backward step for me as you can't get as much waste in them compared to old wheel less one.

Pete

We had to change the vent after buying a second C200 cassette.
New vent cost around £15, sold the old one (unused) for £10 - eBay for both transactions.
Sounds like @noni has the same problem

Just to revive this thread. I have a C200 unit with no wheels. I want a new one but as above they all have wheels now. I am confused if for some people it went straight in and the OP said he had to change the vent over? If so where do I buy the vent?

I bought a new C200 cassette with wheels, fitted perfectly, no mods needed. It could be some people have an extra vent system, such as SOG, so there will be an extra vent pipe. I got the new cassette as the old one started to have problems with the flap jamming. I intend to deep clean and refurbish the old one as a spare if off site for more than a few days. Considering some kind of rack so I can store it under the floor. We have the 2001 Alko chassis.

Me thinks its the orange pull along handle thats causing the problem
It not only got to go back in its got to be IN IN ie locked behind the grey tabs
You can get a false in that makes it slightly too long 1/4 of an inch or so

Had a chuckle this morning when I read this, drinking my first coffee. Sounded a bit pervy until read a bit more. Made me laugh though😂

Hope you get it sorted.

We were going to get one but got THESE in stock and decided to keep one, the wheels are better on bumpy ground and I wanted to keep the full capacity of the cassette and we use them for all sorts.

We take the shopping bag off the shopping trolley and secure the cassette to the trolley with a bungee, works well and no extra kit.

Mine has wheels but I use a trolley because I don't want embedded grit, mud, and grass inside the cassette area. The extra width of a trolley makes it more stable and easier to use. Mine is an unmodified shopping trolley (charity shop) with the bag removed. (as WillH)

I've changed to the one with wheels. Fits perfectly without any alterations 👍

Hi I just splashed out £135 for a new C200 cassette with wheels for a 2016 Hobby and didn’t fit properly, about a cm short. The grey vent valve is different on the new cassette. Thanks to the suggestions in this excellent thread, I changed the valve from the old cassette to the new and now all is fine 😃. Dead easy as well, just twist to 45 degrees and the whole valve lifts out.

Hi Noni, had similar problem, turn the vent valve to 45 deg and pull out the valve and put it back but 180 deg offering ie upside down, then the casette was able to fit

Actually my previous message incorrect! I ended up taking out the vent valve on the new unit, turning it thro 180 deg and replacing it back into place, then worked fine
