Hi peeps
Need some advice. What is best ??? Thermal screens inside or outside. We have an A class van with a huge front screen & some very unless thermal screens that came with it. Any advice appreciated
If on EHU I use a small dehumidifier in the passenger footwell of my A class works a treat and a lot easier to set up plus i can still look out the front window, but no good if you are off grid
External are best, you won’t get the amount of condensation as with Internal.
If you have built in Internal use both together when it’s really cold, but good quality External are best!
External have to be the best, it's a matter of physics. Buy the best quality you can, look after them and they'll last for years - ours are 10 years old and still look like new (Taylormade, only because they made therm with a flap for the bonnet vents)
But the problem is, of course, they don't allow a quick getaway if for some reason you need to depart in a hurry.
So if we find we're not overly happy where we've parked we don't fit them. It's quicker to wipe away enough condensation to drive than go out and remove the screens.
We do our best, however, to avoid that situation.
Just remember you will need to store dripping wet external screens from time to time, especially if going away this time of year. the bags that come with screens often aren’t completely waterproof and can leave damp patches, have found rubble sacks to be waterproof . Dry the screens as soon as possible
