I had a look at thermal cookers at Malvern quite impressed are they as good as they appear?

We saw them there too (Mr D's?) but only catch was their lid didn't lock on so by their own admission air/heat lost when travelling along so not good for that They did have an insulating bag with a locking strap (designed for sailors) but was a lot more money & they didn't have any stock. Apparently Thermos do make one with a locking lid & they used to import them but they can't get stock anymore. Plenty for sale from Japan & Australia on eBay! Anyone know of a good one a bit closer to home that works well even when travelling?

We've had a thermal cooker from Mr D's http://mrdscookware.com/ for two years and honestly find it one of our best 'essentials' on tour.
Uses very little energy (just get the food to the boil for literally a couple of minutes) then leave it for 6-8 hours. When opened it is still hot although we give it a little heat up to our personal taste. The food is always tasty as there's nothing lost in the cooking because it's sealed.

We bought the double pot and we get the meat boiling and placed in the thermal cooker in the morning, then half an hour before we're ready to eat we bring rice or potatoes up to the boil in the small pot, place it into the cooker and as if by magic we have a hot tasty meal with next to no effort.

We place the cooker in a cupboard wedged in with other pots and various haberdashery when traqvelling and never a drop spilt.

I highly recommend it and you can watch the video on their website. Does what it says on the tin!

Heat up the food on the hob then put into thermal cooker, seal lid & leave & continues to cook like a slow cooker with no energy source needed!

Hmmm....sounds like something we might like for our sailing trips when during a rough passage the last thing I want to do is cook . But not too bad an idea for the MH either . More info from users please !
