Hunkered down in honfluer again tonight ready for the storm to hit. Given we have ehu , water and waste thought it would be ideal if we get stuck here for a day - plus there’s a good array of bars and restaurants to keep us “occupied” .

there’s about 20 MHs here today

popular site shame they don’t tidy it up

We were due to take a couple of days getting home from Cambridge but the impending storm made our minds up to get home by Sunday lunchtime
So, this morning we left Cambridge and are now in an aire on the coast not far from Caen
We wanted to get over the Pont de Normandie before the high winds struck.

It's going to be a big one in the uk the worst will hit us at high tide where we live
bill

Storm is already here in south west Scotland, our road is closed due to a tree being blown over, everywhere else is flooded but, we live on the main road, apart from the howling gale the road is very very quiet!

Tomorrow is forecast to be even worse followed by snow for us! Yippee. ❄☃⛄??

Quite worrying Bill, fingers crossed its not as bad as they're forecasting.
The last time we had heavy rain and a storm surge we had flooding in the next town they have rased the bank their but not where we live so it could flood.
Not to wored abut that but the grandchild from hell is coming for a few days now that's scaring me

Driving down to Winchelsea for an afternoon dance tomorrow, Italian jazz band playing so I'm not going to miss it. 55 miles along the coast, not worried high winds are the norm when you live a couple of hundred yards from the sea..

It’s been like a spring day here on the east coast with blue sky and sunshine right through to sunset then a lovely full moon so almost spring tides.
Wind getting up now, stay safe everyone.

On nights tonight and wind is really picking up. It’s going to be a big one, my advice is if you don’t have to travel, then don’t!

Forecasters are saying it’s going to be the biggest for some time.

It's blowing a hooley this morning in Kent. Supposed to be getting worse during the day. We are staying in for the day.

So far we’ve lost a fence panel, the climbing hydrangea is keeping part of it up. Hope it survives. I’m concerned about 3 large standard trees that are getting a real battering as they’re in full leaf! An asales and 2 red robin That are just getting their red leaves!

I'm so glad I'm not in the van for this one! It used to terrify me, we tried to get behind a wall or big building when these winds were predicted.
The worst one I spent was in Hudson's field in Salisbury on a hill and the warden wouldn't let me move to face my engine into the wind. That's the first one I spent on my own after Terry passed away. I was also on ramps as the field was hilly .
Keep safe all of you that are in motorhomes in this storm.

Stupidly I decided to stay in Scotland in our Caravan a few years back even though the storms were forecast. It was like today for 3 whole days.

Bloke next door lost his expensive sat dish off the top of his van.

We got so fed up we drove home 450 miles away on Christmas Day.

The roads were quiet at least.

We had it on the site in Bridlington from yesterday evening right through to around noon today. It calmed right down for a few short hours and has started again now . Hope it drops for the morning as we have to drive home

I hope you have now developed the charm to tell wardens like that they might do?

Yep we live in Pevensey Bay 20 metres from the sea and have been battered all day!

My Goodness it has been windy today and we have 4 fence panels down and counting. Fortunately only one is ours and that came down because the screws sheared off.

I was reminded of when we had the Michael Fish hurricane when my In laws were staying in their mobile home in Whitstable when it hit . They got so worried the decided to leave the van and take shelter in the brick built toilet block. Whilst they were there the roof blew off. No not the Van the Toilet block!!!!

Doug.
