The wind has increased here at Merzouga and visibility has decreased somewhat. The camel overnighters to the desert may be a bit parky in their bivouacs tonight.

Have two bottles of Touareg Rouge remaining and 2/3 of a litre of Bacardi.

Well we had rain late last night for about 40 minutes. Today the sun has got his hat back on providing the moon doesn't bugger it up!

Stay where you are boys and girls, it's hissing it down in Spain.

Yes but will you try to not make quite so much dust over there, every time it rains here in Spain my motorhome gets covered in it.

And you know I don't like a dirty van.

Just preparing our Sunday lunch in the sun, comprising roast chicken, roast potatoes a la remoska, a tagine trio of vegetables which includes cauliflower, carrots, and white turnip plus a big pan of cabbage (to keep the bowels open), all garnished with bisto gravy. We will follow with a suite of fresh strawberries and yoghurt, and cheese and biscuits. The last bottle of Touraeg red is on the table waiting for the corkscrew.

Coffee o clock after today until we can find an offy.:cry::cry:

Tifnit is now verboten Suggy - big signs up saying no camping cars. Pam & John are on the camp site inland from Tifnit. We are keeping the sun down here till at least Tuesday. We went into Rissani in Daves van this morning to get cash and it was souk day. Very few Europeans to be seen. We sat out and had cafe au lait outside the souk after ordering a Berber Pizza from a bread shop for lunch. It was filled with savoury meat and spices and was delicious - some left over for supper.
Forecast for Midelt, Meknes and all points north is pants for next few days - so will hold out here as long as poss.

Hi ken , yeah P n J emailed me they are at that Bouzakan campsite about 12 vans there , thats the one Dutchman said about being plaged with flies he reckoned it was the french dumping everywhere instead of using the facilities , just like the French with a burstner like makems next to me at Kenitra dumping his waste via a hose pipe under his van ,ready for moving tomorrow ,

Cooler and overcast with intermittent strips of blue sky in between the grey bits today here in Merzouga. Still warm enough for shorts and t shirts.

Left Midelt at 07:30 to try and get a head start. Weather bitterly cold but bright and breezy. Got to a place called Ait Oufella only to find a queue of traffic behind the the snow barriers which are closed. We have been led to believe that the gates may open at 10:00 inshallah.
Another German Motorhome convoy have turned around and decided to take the R503 via Boulemane to Fes. The road is rough for first 25km apparently we were told as one of their colleagues has already gone that route earlier this morning.
We will sit tight till 10:00 and see what Allah comes up with. We need the sun to come out and melt the ice ahead.
