:Sad:I knew it was on it's way but we have both agreed. We'll miss you all but I'll hang around here for a bit anyway. We are thinking of getting a static in the Spring but who knows. I'm in the middle of sorting out a social life with groups and and so on, which I couldn't commit to before.

Do tell me if this could be improved. ::bigsmile::Sad:

Ivy, don't go:Sad:! You will miss the freedom on the motorhome, in a static you will wake up to the same view every morning.

But I have to say the van looks lovely, if it was next year we would have been very interested in it, just not quite ready to move on from dear old Herman.
But please don't leave the Fun.

You'll both be missed if you go.
Think again long and hard before you do it.

My brother in law bought one of those.
The only view he had on three sides was more statics, with a hedge on the fourth.

Things always change as life goes on, sometimes for the better, you might get your static and think should have done this years ago.::bigsmile:

:winky: Then those poor funsters would not have had to put up Sandy stirring them up.:ROFLMAO:

Only joking have a great time, good luck with the sale, and if you change your mind we will do another Tattingstone meet just for you.:roflmto: Bob Jane and Izzy ( is missing Ellie.)

IVY PLEASE PLEASE

do not get a static

they start of with either free ground rent for the first year or reduced rent, then it goes up so high that you could have spent 6 months abroad for what they wanted.

Then in anything from 3-8 years they tell you that you have to upgrade the static or move it off the site.

and thats the best scenario.

Relatives of ours had a static for 8 years on a site. They paid nothing for the first two years, by year 5 they could have spent the whole of the summer abroad for all the charges including ground rent, electric gas etc etc.

The site owners sold the site. the new owners decided they didnt like our relatives who ended up having to sell their van (which they had only upgraded two years earlier to stay on site at a huge cost). they sold their van for ÂŁ400 as it had to be sold through the site owners.

Whatever you do, stay in hotels, bed and breakfast but DONT get a static

ps just because you are selling the motorhome doesnt mean you cant still stay a fun member. Bring a tent or one of us will put you up

Me and the Bitch will miss you two, but wish you all the best.

However at least you will not be giving us a fright any more by suddenly appearing at the van window in the middle of nowhere.

The bitch had to have counselling after that!!!!!!!

Sandy, Ivy, have I taught you nothing?

where else can you ride round on your bike, with a lovely soft landing when you are half ratted!!

where else can you run round a field in super hero underpants?

where else can you get a good british bacon buttie for but a quid?

where else can you leave sandy to his own devices, go back several hours later thourghly chillaxed, several glasses of wine later and still find him where you left him?

where else can you go and have a brilliant bloody time with now life long friends sat round the bbq

do I need to say more...

yes I do...

who will do our Dingbats?????

Seriously, don't do it:Eeek::Eeek:
You can holiday in foreign hotels for far less money, everything that everyone has said about static parks is gospel, you will regret it , I promise.
Whether you sell your mh or not stay on here and have some wonderful holidays where you like , not looking at the same old van next door where you don't want to be.

Only since 2012, but I towed for many years
I’ve never met either of you. But I am mightily impressed by all the love and best wishes that your Funster friends have expressed, in response to your proposed change to a static. Now I probably never will meet either of you, which is a shame as you are evidently a very nice, friendly couple.

Some friends of mine bought a static, on a nice river-side site, several years ago. For a few years everything was rosy, but then things changed and the costs became extortionate. So much so that they had to sell the static (at a huge loss) and give it all up. Strangely enough they are now thinking of acquiring a MH.

I think that your Funster friends are giving you very sound advice.
