Some time ago the step stopped retracting when I start the engine but works on the switch. This didn't bother me too much so this trip out I thought it was about time I addressed it. I've got the wiring diagrams for motorhome and fridge. What I didn't realise was the fridge wasn't working whilst driving as it was still cold when we arrived on site. The Sargent panel does switch off the 12v and water pump if on when I start the engine.
Checks so far :-
1. Split charge relays both switching.
2. Fridge fuse was ok but changed just after the split charge.
3. Relay just prior to the step switching.
4. 12v permanent feed to fridge ok.
5. Fridge relay switching.
6. Fridge fuse ok.
Now all I can do is check all connections and 12v output feed from split charge to step relay.
If anyone can think of anything I've missed so far it would be appreciated.
Phil.

Have you checked the D+ lead that tells the step and fridge that the engine is running?
There is a relay on the back of the fridge that swit he's on the 12v heater when the D+ signal (12v) is present. It also operates the step.

Hi John I haven't yet checked the signal is present just checked the relay. Will let you know.
Many thanks.

As above, but I would personally leave the step with the switch only option, I nearly took Bev’s foot off on our old MH started engine when she was just getting in still stood on step

What a daft feature that is, bet you only get in on UK vehicles

Hi John bit late coming back but had visitors to the van so had to abort. Relays on the back of the fridge checked and both switching. I then checked the D+ feed into the fridge no voltage with engine started. Looking at the fridge wiring when voltage is present at the D+ the relay switches on the 12V heating element. From the lunar roadstar wiring diagram it appears that the 12v is then fed back to the step relay and buzzer. I assume I'll have to work my way from the D+ from the alternator.

DavidG58 I need to get the fridge working on 12V for travelling. I can disable the feed to the step if required.
lunarman As above reply re D+ feed there is no voltage.
A few questions for the more knowledgeable ones.
1. From the wiring diagram for my fiat based 2006 Lunar Roadstar there is a feed from the alternator to the split charge relays. Is this the D+ feed?
2. The feed from the relays appear to feed down to the PSU 2007 then back to the fridge. Plus feeds to the step relay/switch and buzzer. The wiring diagram is very small so a little difficult to read.
As stated before I've checked fuses and relays all ok. The EC200 switches off the 12v when the engine is started so that appears ok. Any added suggestions would be most welcome.
Many Thanks
Phil.
