Robin & Annette.

Very warm welcome, exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Beautiful campsite, very highly maintained too.

Is this easy access to drive there? I am trying to plan a trip for next weekend and want a nice 'easy' one nighter for my first stay as a motorhome owner while I figure everything out.

Burton on the water on a bank holiday weekend ....Good luck it will be packed.
Sadly, as currently having COVID I had to cancel my plans this weekend and would like to get a short practice trip in before I have longer journeys planned.

Looking at the booking page though, it doesn't actually look very full. Perhaps everyone had the same thought and stayed away!

It’s one of the cheapest. We paid £20.70 per night for 2 adults and a dog.

It’s £15 overnight in the co-op car park. I think day hours are chargeable too !

It sounds great, thanks for sharing, I hadn't thought to look in that direction when looking for something close by. In fairness, I only found out it existed last summer 😂 (the town not the campsite!). It's only an 80 minute drive in the car from here!

I guess traffic might be busy BH weekend though

Was there a few weeks ago and agree that the wardens were great. Friendly, helpful and good local info.

There is an 801 bus stop across the road.

To be honest, I preferred to stay and relax. After being robbed for thee worst, most expensive Fish & Chips at https://chipshed.co.uk/bourton £17.50 EACH

Eurotrotter you and you and your partners name wouldn't be Robin and Annette would it. Seriously though I find most wardens ok.

You typed £17.50 instead of £7.50 each !
That would make it £35 for 2 portions of fish and chips 😂. Although I have a bad feeling that wasn’t a typo!

How are they able to name it Burton on the water caravan park when it's 5 miles from Burton on the water ?? That's a long way to walk back after a pint or two.😱
I think it’s like Ryanair.

It’s nowhere near your destination.

It’s Not Grove.

Friendly & helpful bus drivers too.

Have you had too much to drink…😉
Must have, I've only ever met little hitlers.

I think it was 13 quid August last year for cod & chips, didn't bother but did spend nearly 70 on a curry for the two of us and it was probably the best curry we have ever had in England.

Didn't think there was a site there we stayed at the THS at the Football club, 2 min walk to centre of the village.

Cricky! that is a cheap price for a CMC site in The Cotswolds in 2022, would it be too cheeky to ask why they don't offer a non EHU pitch? As have been mentioned "We paid £20.70 per night for 2 adults and a dog".
Well I am a firm believer in..... don't ask don't get.
PS: I don't have a dog either!, so I will offer you £10 per night in cash! what do you reckon on my chances?:giggle:

I don’t think they’ve got a toilet / shower block, so that’s why it’s that price. 🤷‍♂️

Takes all sorts, majority are nice people. We do sometimes encounter the occasional grumpy one but gives me a challenge to work them around.

Arrived at a THS today to find the 2 ladies in the marshals tent, one of them held up a piece of paper to cover her face to speak to the other one, so obviously talking about us. When I arrived to check in she started the conversation with, “don’t take this the wrong way” then spent the next 10 minutes telling me the disadvantage of big motorhomes and how we will never be able to visit France. I just smiled and listened.
