Does anyone know what has happened The Motorhome Association in Northern Ireland. Their web link is no longer and has been obtained by the Motor Caravan Tourism Organisation today.

The link http://www.themotorhomeassociation.org now links to TMCTO home page.

There was a lot of useful information on their pages.

4 yrs in total but not consecutively. Just bought the 3rd.
They're calling it motorhome not motor caravan so maybe they have amalgamated into one organisation. Why not send them an email & ask & check out if the info is still there.

Never knew such a site existed - will look at it in more detail later.

Hi Dot

TMCTO was set up as The Motor Caravan Tourism Organisation however while communicating with council we found that they took the word caravan literally and instead of giving information regarding Motor Caravan Parking in replies to Freedom of Information request, they simply stated there were plenty of caravan sites available if members wished to use them.

It was for this reason that we changed the heading to The Motorhome Tourism Organisation and used that name. The website shows both, but the web address remained as www.tmcto.org.

The Motorhome Association was set up by a group in Northern Ireland and they worked with the Tourism body in NI and got the Aire type stopovers in NI with continental style Bournes as in France. We set up TMCTO to try to do the same in the rest of the UK.

We used to check their site and noticed it was down. When we checked today the web address was available, so they have closed it down. We wondered if anyone knew the reason and if they had any contacts for them as there was good stuff that we could use on TMCTO.

I found the answer. The website has changed its name to Caravanning Ireland and Mr & Mrs Quinn are now campaigning independently of that group.
