It took me AGES to find suitable outside the van chair(s).

These are only needed by me at Fun Meets and very occasionally when on the road.

Several years ago I saw the "most comfortable (outside) chair in the world" at one of the stands at a show.

Of course I didn't know it was that comfortable yet...

"May I try this chair please?"

"Go ahead... we have just got a batch in for the first time."

    I sat in it... brilliant...

"Under each armrest there is a little lever. Pull them up with your fingers..."

I do so and nothing happens...

    "Now lean back..."

I do so and back tilts the back and up comes the fully supportive leg rest in one smooth movement and there I am fully reclined. It was so comfortable I nearly fell asleep there and then.

The woman then instructed me in how to adjust the amount of recline just by moving your body and then fixing the position with the little levers.

Now I am not a quiet person and I am practically screaming in delight at finding these chairs. I buy two on the spot (very reasonable at that time) and ask them to keep them on the stand for me to collect later.

When I returned the lady handed over the chairs and said,

"The chair has been sitting there all week and we were beginning to think we would not sell any. Then you come along and try one and make so much noise about it that we have now nearly sold out!"

Those chairs served me well until the bungy cord stuff rotted in the sunlight. (They were always left out in all weathers.)

They sat forlornly outside the Wagon folded up for years.

    Until today!

I ordered some 8mm cord online, it arrived yesterday and look...

    This...

Hi Terry... these are the people I used.

Answered my email enquiries promptly and a fairly easy website to use.

    www.team-wise.co.uk

(Of course rather than just press a few buttons on your computer and have the cord arrive at your door a day or two later, you could always get the car out and drive off somewhere, park somewhere and hope the store has the right size and colour bungee cord you want with all the specially designed hooks etc in stock.)

No, yours are quite different. They have paint on them and lack the questionable "patina" of stains.

No doubt your chairs are BRILLIANT Peter and well worth the money especially considering your generous Funster discount but...

    1. I suspect your ones lack the ability to be able to lock the recline at different angles...

    2. Mine were NOWHERE near £50 each!

Some folk will never ever understand!

    They want new stuff.
They want it all clean and neat and tidy. They need people to think well of them because they own new, stylish stuff.

Then they need insurance in case their "stuff" gets nicked.

Me... I want my outside chair to be COMFORTABLE and practical to use...

bomb proof and unlikely to be nicked...

And I am happy if its appearance brings snide comments because these give me a good indication of who I want sitting near me in mine and who I don't...

Great job on the chairs, JJ, and we love your philosophy too. We don't buy new if we can repair the old. Hence we have a 21 year old van that is well maintained, passes its MOTs with no advisories and doesn't lose a fortune in depreciation. In fact, its probably worth more now than when we bought it four years ago.

Somebody burnt one of our expensive new shiny outdoor chairs with a cigarette.

When my wife discovered the burn, all eyes turned to the only smoker in the family.

I was as popular as a rattlesnake in a lucky dip:(
