Did you walk up to The Guns @jumartoo ?

Sorry, been out all day on mountain bikes with new friends @Barrackslass who AREN'T staying on the camperstop but have bought an apartment near Jan and Eli's. YES @Armytwowheels Martin rode a mountain bike in the hills for the first time today. Feels OK atm but we'll see what tomorrow brings!!!

We drove up to the guns with Robert and Lis. They'd been before in their Motorhome! There were two French motorhomes up there when we arrived. Nice place to park! We didn't allow enough time because when we last went there wasn't much to see (19 years ago!) and we had arranged to meet the Munchies and Ber090's at the WOK at 1.30. so we had to rush ourvisit and didn't get to walk to the very end emplacements. Next time we'll either go earlier or not have a time to finish!

Believe Robert Clark is a good runner, John. Maybe he can catch him. ;)

:Eeek::Eeek: Not from Campillo de Ardente. Probably the car:LOL:

Has anyone ever gone in the gun compounds on the way back down ? Installed to protect the main guns from being attacked on the landward side & positioned to cover the whole valley.
There are no guns in them but all the infrastructure was still in place along with the mini railway tracks to move the shells around.

The buildings we went into had tracks on the ground and some infrastructure high up in the roof

I am afraid we didn't hang around the other day as we had cycled up and it was quite cold up there. A quick look at the emplacments and then back down the hill.
