Phase 2 has started.

We set off at 1.45pm and have already nearly reached Bergerac.

We must be averaging about 32.5 kms per hour.

Just stopped for a quick coffee and then off again heading for Limoges...

Motorhoming is BRILLIANT... especially when you are on the road.

Now where shall I dump this waste water? :ROFLMAO:

Break time...

Ok, they don't have all day brekkies but it is very French...

...and my Princess appears to be able to communicate with the natives and is now scoffing some tortured goose stuff on bread.

(Why don't my photo attachments appear?)

Man plans, God laughes.

Had hoped to have a bit of a night drive tonight but have suffered a bit of bad luck and goodish luck simultaneously...

Noticed out of the blue that all indicators had gone on strike but the hazard switch turned them all on at once as designed!

This was a "sign" to stop for the night and almost immediately we came upon a suitable spot.

On investigation I discovered I had no wipers either which leads me to suspect the same multi-connector that caused the problem before...

Just then the thunder and lightning struck and down poured the rain...

Thank goodness we are safely parked up and not driving along in this storm with no wipers!!!

Let's see what tomorrow brings... :thumb:

Can't be any hardship with your Princess at your side, what can be nicer rain beating down and safe inside your own world, that's what its all about.

Hope the technical bit gets sorted tomorrow.

As some of the Funsters who know me know I am a fuse fixing, Classic Hymer Electrical System Genius and, after brain hurting analysis I diagnosed the indicator/wipers' and fixed the fault before even making the morning coffee.

When I explained my faultless electrical repair talents to my Princess she said,

"So you wiggled the loose connector then?"

Not much I could say hey!

Brekky finished... I'm hitting the road...

Not quite as early as you thought Dave... an hour's difference remember...

The electrical quirks of the old girl (the Hymer of course) continue to test my genius status...

After a couple of hours I lost the indicators and wipers again... a high quality wiggle plus gentle cleaning of contacts and the application of WD 40 plus a taylor made elastic band to hold the plug in place failed to fix it...:Eeek:

Well... it wasn't raining and I didn't need the indicators much so we continued on the trip and looked for a "sign"... some mystical indication (geddit?) as to the course of action to take...

With lunch time approaching it started to drizzle... the screen got wetter and wetter and I tried the wipers just for the hell of it... they worked perfectly!

Then we spotted an excellent place for lunch on the other side of the road... a flick of the switch and yes... the indicators worked... must be the magic of WD 40...

Time for lunch...

JJ, WD is NOT the thing to use mate.. After a few weeks it starts absorbing water, not repelling it, so unless you are going to renew it after 10 days or so I would suggest you make a serious effort and clean it right off.

I will bring along to Malvern a drop of the proper stuff, ACF 50 ( in fact I will give you the last remaining sample bottle I have ) which will do what most folk think WD does..

I really am a BIG fan of WD 40.. Over the years it has probably earned me more money than any other product out there.. Dating right back to the 70's when folk would spray it on distributer caps etc.. Worked great for a while but before long I would be called upon to replace the HT leads, caps, distributer cap etc etc

Gonna wander off and put that bottle of jollop on the 'to go' pile.

Thanks Jaws... see you there.

Drove through Rouen very early this morning no problem...

BUT

It would have been pretty tricky during the day with other traffic on the road. Road works everywhere...

Chaos I imagine!

Nice easy drive to the tunnel today though now.

Similar tale here...

Indicators and wipers didn't work then they did then they didn't and now all has been fine for hundreds of kilometers
.

Now on train waiting for the off.

I need an Internet connection near Dover in order to get my giffgaff sim working... Frankie's French Connection won't work in Blighty!

A pub/restaurant...?

A quick post to test the GiffGaff internet.

We have arrived in Blighty and are parked near Oxford in one of my old time lay bys. Sadly truckers now use it too and we could only just squeeze on.

Thanks to Funster Keith for his help with Giff Gaff.

More later... bit tired from quite a lot of driving!

We have arrived at Cwmcuttan.

A peaceful, beautiful and fantastically maintained campsite.

To be honest... if I had a such a smart and tidy place I wouldn't let a freeloading, lowlife, off-siter like me anywhere near the place...:ROFLMAO:
