I was reading an article on the lack of consular assistance to British victims of crime abroad and this charity was mentioned: the Lucie Blackman Trust. I've never heard of them before, but they are there to provide help for people who are victims of serious crime abroad - something that sadly the local consulate or embassy often either don't provide at all, or don't provide very well.
Not a service I hope ever to need, but definitely one to bookmark just in case I think.
