The Kelpies, Scotlands answer to the Angle of the North.

The new sculture by the M9 between Falkirk and Grangemouth is two colossal horses heads representing the water spirit called the Kelpie. They stand 100 feet tall right by the motorway and are sure to capture the imagination of all who pass that way.

We went passed while visiting our daughter and plan to return next month for a closer look. I'm sure they will be on many motor homers list of sites to visit.

Fantastic

Travel that way several times a week and the only downside is the proximity to the motorway.
Witnessed vehicles wandering over the carriageway as they try to take photos
That said a fantastic engineering achievement, makes you proud to be British:winky:

Always - off and on
They sit within the Helix Park www.helix.co.uk lots of good level walks, cycle ways walks by the canal and you can also have a tour inside them. Electric bikes on hire there too, but a bit expensive at around £30 a day. Along with the Falkirk Wheel, boat lift make Falkirk well worth a visit (I think there is or was a video on you tube of the Wheel)

Much better than the Angel of the North, not keen on that Anthony Gormley, like his statues on Merseyside, he bases most of his sculptures on himself.
