We're booked on the Tunnel at the end of the month for 13 nights, meant to be going to Brittany, but the weather at the moment there (and here) is rubbish.
Looking at alternatives, further South, which may have better weather.

Snap, we're thinking the same thing.

Have a look on your GPS and see how far it is to Iseo. You could have nine days there....

But if you could streach to 3 weeks...

A week on both Iseo and Garda would be a real tonic and worth the effort

Been so busy and poor reception on site its been difficult to update. Left today heading home made it to Colmar port aire which is rammed!

Hello funsters! Made it to Gravelines Aire @ 4.30, tunnel crossing in morning.

So that's two 9 hr days on the road (7 driving 2 on breaks) 14 hrs driving in all. If we had left italy first thing Sunday could have made tunnel today.
So home with one overnight stop.

We like to tour down but coming back like to just get home..anyway Mrs M back to work Wednesday

A drop in temps of 20 degs a bit of a shock I can tell you!

God france so miserable...prices scandalous and the smell of dog shit in the air everywhere! On other thread re white dog shit..you can pick up bags of it here for ftee!lol. While I'm on a rant. The service stations we stopped at on way up where filthy, counters disgusting..we refused to buy food! A little statistic: the French have one toothbrush for every 40 people. Rant over (for now)

Heading there gradually - Gorges du Verdon on Wednesday or so, then up via Ardeche and Le Puy over next week and a half.

V hot in Croatia and then for 5 days in Dolomites until weather broke.

Need to ensure we have space for passengers on return crossing

Indeedy!.......Just picked up 3 lovely lads from Sudan that want to visit london...I hitched widely when young so like to help others out. They insisted on helping moi out financially.. Enough to cover our Italian trip actually...I said there was no need but they were insistant! and I did not want to insult them

Some of the best meals we have had in Europe have been in France and very reasonably priced, usually the formula of the day

If you had gone a cross to the other side of the water just to the left of your photo there is a restaurant over there called au cap compass and they serve excellent fish and steak meals , cooked in the room on an open Barbi type thing all very reasonable, we've been loads of times and never had a bad one

Yes have seen there are some decent looking eateries over that side when we have cycled around...To tell the truth I was cream crackered from the drive up

Like in most countries the best food is nearly always in provincial towns off the tourist trail.
Even in Italy if you don't want tourist food the norm is to ring the restaurant the day before tell them what you want and they will get the ingredients in for your meal. How often do you see Italians eating food that doesn't appear to be on the menu, really annoying means us Brits that don't speak Italian are stuck with the grotty tourist menu.
