Looks like some water got into our stove igniter and now it's ticking continually while we try to go to sleep. We've dried it as much as we can but it's still going :/

Have you checked that the switch is level. Sometimes they stick.

No, definitely not stuck in or anything like that. Is there any way to disconnect the power to the ignitor

If you have a cupboard underneath the hob or oven look for the 12v feed and if you see a connector plug disconnect it

As a temp measure you could slip a piece of card between the ignitor probe/tip and whatever it earth's to.
That should stop the click until it can be sorted.

not long enough
@Debs had what sounds like the same, on hers the two wires feeding the switch were somehow arcing together, I gently pushed them apart up behind the cupboard and stopped it, not sure how permanent the fix was but think it at least sorted the problem overnight (y)

depending on the connection, if you can reach the back of the switch, pulling off one of the wires might stop it as well, but wont work if soldered on

You could try warming the switch up with a hair drier and dry out the switch.
My guess is the water is jumping the two contacts.
you will probably find the connections are spade connectors.

Yeah, we tried the hairdryer with our 12v adapter but i think it tripped something. Immediately turned off and now none of our power points will deliver power :/

I've not had any further problems at all in the van thanks David.

I did have this at home though after getting water on the hob...... @andy63 advised me to dry it as much as possible, light it manually and I had to hold the knob in to keep it lit for a while & then leave it on, at least 20 mins. It sorted the problem but you will be burning your gas up.

I read your opening post the other day, hope you are still enjoying the adventure.

There's alot of good folks on here to help.

I’m guessing your on hook up then?
If so you will have an rcd or individual trip for that circuit. That will need resetting.

Have a look under the job for the. Ignotor switch. Ours is easy to get out.
I take the two spade connectors off and squeeze the two ends of the switch, this pushes in the retaining plastic lugs and frees the stitch.
Put the switch near something warm to dry out.
Put a bit of tape on the cable ends up stop any grounding.
