It depends if you are in the Southern Hemisphere or northern hemisphere

My old dear, bless her, was head of housekeeping at a posh (for Stoke-on-Trent) hotel. A would result in a telling off for the girls if she found one on her inspection.

B in our house and the motorhome. Just to be silly I fold the corners like the hotels do when I put a new roll on.

The way the wife tells me to fit it

I am definitely a B. However Mrs Pops is definitely an A and gets annoyed when I change it from A to B. Obviously as it annoys her I change it at every opportunity
That's the same in this household 😂

Mine is a B, but regularly followed by B/A - C where it wraps around itself and I get into an angry shouting match with a roll of paper 🤬

Coincidentally, in preparation for a long trip I had been wondering how much of the life-essentials to take so I noted the date when fitting the previous roll of Andrex which was March 19th and yesterday I fitted a new one so one roll lasts about five and a half weeks.
A box of 240 tea bags lasts me 30 days (although they're not as soft as Andrex  ).

Fortunately Boris7, I will soon be getting out more.

B for two reasons; rolls that are printed or embossed are generally manufactured to follow the 'B' arrangement. Secondly the hygiene research suggests 'A' encourages repeat touching of the adjacent wall promoting increased risk of passing bacteria, whilst 'A' encourages only handling the sections of the roll that are taken. Having spent 10 years in the paper production industry it is amazing how much effort goes into getting those rolls just right! Sacrilege to then see them hanging 'the wrong way'
