Yes but the 8 series controller is actually not involved at all now and I know the 7 series works because we did it before the "repairs" and it worked

Have you seen the 9 series? Narrower taller and less capacity but clearly setting themselves free from the dreaded 8 series

I'm disappointed Andy. :(

I really was expecting a digital temperature read-out of your Corona beer, to confirm the new controller's efficiency. It's not like you to be slacking.

Nice one, getting it all sorted. (y)

Jock. :)

In the old days many Spanish sites would hire a domestic fridge out to keep in your awning then return it when you leave. It was a great idea but we were tuggers then though.:)

Fridge is now on a long gas test
24hrs have passed and the beer is proper cold
So day one down 13 to go, if this works again it will absolutely prove that the Dometic 8 series circuit board is not fit for purpose

Well I can safely say it is fixed as a week has passed and I'm having to reduce the cooling again.
It's now impossible to hold a bottle of beer against my forehead such is the cold :)

Yes only took over two years and the attention of an engineer on five occasions with absolutely everything relative to the problem renewed plus my time and expense plus paying labour for one visit that did not find the problem at all.
Had I not been lucky enough for someone to do a temporary fix that worked I would still be nowhere today
Of course Dometic will never admit there was a design fault especially since they've moved on to the 9000 series and waived goodbye
The only faulty part was the cooling unit in the first place but the design flaw with the circuit boards was never going to go away
