We are sadly packing in the motorhome lark.
We have had 8 fabulous years during which we have toured much of Europe, wintered in Spain, Portugal and Morocco and enjoyed many Fun rallies.
As some may know, I have dodgy eyesight so Gwen does all the driving but her arthritis has progressed and she can no longer drive more than an hour without the help of powerful pain killers. Unfortunately those pain killers all have warnings against driving while taking them so it is Catch 22.
We have therefore taken the difficult decision that it is time to hang up the keys to the motorhome and it is up for sale. details here:
https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/burstner-elegance-3-0-auto-2013.154435/#post-2376557

However, don't think you are getting rid of me, Fun is the only social media site I frequent so I will continue to torture you with bad jokes!

I dont like to press like as it seems wrong to do so.
It is nice to have had the 8 years with motorhomes.
All the best with whatever you do.
I am sure someone will end up with a very nice MH

11yrs, but many years a tugger.
That truly is a fabulous van, and obviously I respect your decision, which is yours and private.

However, management was in her day the PA to two consultant eye surgeons and says that unless it is something hideous, with your eyes, then there is a good chance that they can be fixed. Now she is no doctor and thus offers that only in support.

As already said your decision is private so please feel free to ignore this post if you want to.

Kisses. :h:

A sad day indeed. But will you still travel, even if it is by EasyJet or whatever? Saga holidays - we did a few before buying the MH and they were fun if you enter into the spirit. :)

I hope everything works out well for you both.
I did warn Gwen about the consequences of those nights at the rink would catch up with her, or was it rushing straight out of High Street baths over to Maws for a pie.

No idea if you remember about 3 yrs ago but you were the first ever funsters we met when we'd just collected our 1st van from camper uk and we were staying overnight on their site.

Your mh is beautiful and I'm sure it will go to an equally good home.

Hope you still have time & the inclination for lots of travels & fun together

All the best x

Sorry to hear you are having to give up, must be a heartbreaking decision.

Can I make a suggestion that on your add that you replace the external photos with some that are not on a beach. A lot of people are put off if they know it has been used on sand and near sea, wouln't bother us as we live 200yds from the beach but some folk are funny about it.

Sadly, it is something hideous. Or rather, two hideous things - a different condition in each eye!
My right eye has been considered for a corneal transplant but turned down because the risk is too high. There is no cure whatsoever for the condition in my left eye (scar tissue from bleeding at the back of the eye causing a massive blind spot)

It's always difficult when you are forced to give up something you love doing so much, but you've obviously given the matter a good deal of thought, before making your minds up and of course it doesn't mean you have to give up travelling altogether.

I wish you the best of luck as you go forward in to your next era (y)

Sorry to hear you're throwing the towel in Mike & Gwen, but your health must come first. Im sure you will be jetting off to far away destinations that you couldn't get to in your van. Good luck with the sale. Keep in touch.

Very sorry to read this Mike. Your music has contributed to the enjoyment of many a fun meet, whether just you & Suggy at our 1st Misterton or the full band at many a show meet. We will miss you at meets & rallies, but I hope you both find other ways of enjoying life.

Best wishes to you both.
