After seeing messages here about USB wifi access point repeaters I bought one (with high range aerial) for my daughter who is living in rented accommodation out in the sticks with no internet access by mobile phone, land line or easily accessible wifi.
There was wifi available at the nearby landlord's house that she could use if she went round there but it was just not practical to use.
